Steve was raised in Omaha, Nebraska and received his degree, after majoring in pre-law, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1976. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve and graduated from its Officer Candidates School while in college.

He began his financial services career with the Great Southern Life Insurance Company, where he earned rookie of the year honors in 1978. For the next six years, Steve built a successful retail life insurance practice, receiving numerous company awards, as well as qualifying for the Million Dollar Roundtable all six of those years.

In 1983, he and his wife, Becky, founded InsurMark, which is known for its integrity, innovation, leadership and service. Although it began as a small dream, InsurMark is now a well-established and well-respected national insurance marketing organization with thousands of advisor-partners in all 50 states. In the past ten years alone, InsurMark advisors placed nearly $5 billion in fixed and fixed-indexed annuity premium.

Steve is a visionary and coach with a keen ability to spot industry and demographic trends. Which is why he functions as our chief strategic officer, in addition to his CEO responsibilities. He positions InsurMark to proactively capitalize on opportunities–not just stay in the game, but stay on top of it.

Steve is a founding partner of LifeUSA, known today as Allianz, of The Annexus Group, Market Synergy Group, and Collabrix. These are all influential organizations in the FIA space that are innovators and leaders, bringing breakthrough thought-leadership to the rapidly expanding marketplace. Steve sits shoulder-to-shoulder, collaborating with some of the best minds in the business through his involvement in these organizations.

Throughout his career, Steve has served on numerous insurance company advisory boards and is a proud member of the National Association of Fixed Annuities (NAFA), the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), the National Ethics Bureau (NEB), AIMCOR and AIMCOR Enterprise Insurance Group.

And there’s more: Steve is active in his church, an avid golfer, a bank director, a board trustee at Houston Baptist University and also serves on numerous charitable boards.

Steve’s passion in life is serving others and assisting them in realizing their dreams. He believes we serve a sovereign God who honors honesty, humility, and integrity; and that faith in Him and the daily application of His values gives us meaning and purpose in life, both personally and professionally. Based on Steve’s code of strong beliefs and ethical standards, he strives to live his life as an example to all that come in contact with him. Living in Houston, Texas with his wife of over 36 years, Becky, they have two sons. Marshall a recent graduate of Vanderbilt University, and Matthew a graduate of the University of Texas. Both are employed by Escalante Golf and live in Fort Worth.

Executive Assistant to Founder & CEO

Jana has spent more than 20 years in corporate executive suites and has the professionalism and polish that comes with that caliber of experience. She supports Steve in all matters of business–administrative, financial, scheduling—whatever. With a strong combination of focus and perspective, she effectively manages all incoming an outgoing communications for the office of the CEO, and assists with troubleshooting and problem-resolution. Jana is affectionately known as the “company counselor.”

A native Texan, she attended Lamar University. Jana and her husband have been married for over 24 years and enjoy traveling, snow skiing and spending time with family and friends. Music and singing have been Jana’s passion since a very young age.

Jeff joined InsurMark in 1997. Jeff plays a key role at InsurMark by forming close relationships with many of the top independent investment and insurance advisors in the nation. He designs the appropriate marketing, sales and business operation strategies based on the specific growth goals of his advisors. He has a thorough knowledge of the top annuity products in the marketplace, and helps his advisors understand how to determine the most appropriate products to grow their businesses.

Jeff is truly “on a mission” to work with producers across the country and assist them to take their businesses to exciting new levels.

A native of Texas, Jeff attended Texas A & M. Jeff and his wife Natalie have one daughter, Camden, and a son, Grayson. Jeff enjoys golf, traveling, and hanging out with friends.

Jay Vinson - Executive Vice President, Sales & MarketingJay Vinson

Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Jay has a business development track record and over 20 years experience in financial services. Working with tens-of-thousands of advisors in some of the top organizations in the insurance, broker dealer, and RIA space, Jay developed and led highly successful sales organizations and learned from many the best advisors in the country.

He began developing and implementing his sales leadership and business development models at Mutual Service Corp. in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he was vice president and director of new-business development.

Building upon his success there, Jay became vice president of new-business development at Cetera Advisors. He helped propel the firm’s growth by designing and building the sales organization. Most recently he was senior vice president and national sales manager for National Planning Holdings.

Jay earned his BA in economics and finance at the University of Texas at Dallas. He and his wife, Jeanie, have two daughters—Alex and Olivia. Jay enjoys the work it takes to achieve what others believe can’t be done. His life purpose is to be more like Christ each day.

Tony joined InsurMark in 2001. He partners with many of the top advisors in the nation,  assisting them with marketing, sales and business operations. Tony closely evaluates annuity products and helps his advisors understand the pros and cons of each. Tony facilitates an ongoing stream of ideas among his advisors, allowing each one to benefit from his connections to top advisors. He is both insurance and securities licensed.

Commitment to our advisors: “My goal is to perform complete due diligence on all carriers and products to recommend only the “best of the best.” I work with only the best products, based on client needs rather than personal gain. I work on 100% commission, so I don’t get paid unless you get paid. Tony was named InsurMark’s 2009 and 2011 Employee of the Year.  He graduated from Sam Houston State University and is an avid traveler. His main hobby is classic car restoration. He also enjoys deep sea fishing.
